47 Students Killed In Yobe School Explosion This Morning

At least 48 people were this morning killed at the Government Comprehensive Senior Science Secondary School in Potiskum, Yobe state after an explosion occurred as students gathered for morning assembly before classes began.

Some reports suggested that the bomb was carried in the backpack of a suicide bomber, dressed as a student who stood in the midst of the students as the morning assembly was on-going. About 79 other students who were injured have been rushed to Potiskum General Hospital, not too far from the school.
